Los ganadores fueron anunciados el 17 de septiembre de 2018 en NBC, y los presentadores fueron Colin Jost y Michael Che.
Lo que fue un poco sorprendente es que por primera vez en 17 años HBO no tiene la mayor cantidad de nominaciones, esta vez es Netflix. Las nominaciones de Netflix están repartidas a través de 40 series, mientras que HBO tiene 23 series nominadas. Sin embargo, «Game of Thrones» de HBO lideró en número de nominaciones.
El ganador del premio Emmy 2018 es The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, una serie que se llevó a casa hasta 5 estatuillas, incluida la de Mejor serie de comedia.
