Nueva adaptación de Pet Sematary de Stephen King llega a los cines el próximo mes, aunque la película ha conseguido una envidiable posición como cierre del festival de cine South by Southwest en Austin, Texas. El libro fue adaptado por primera vez a la pantalla en 1989, y los fanáticos aún lo consideran una de las mejores adaptaciones de King. Como lo demostró la aclamada adaptación de IT en 2017, ha pasado suficiente tiempo entre la adaptación del libro de King, lo que resultó en un enorme éxito, con la película ganando más de $700 millones en todo el mundo, a pesar de que fue hecha en una muy elogiada y culta miniserie de 1990. Basada en la novela de terror de Stephen King, Pet Sematary sigue al Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), quien, tras mudarse con su esposa Rachel (Seimetz) y sus dos hijos de Boston a la zona rural de Maine, descubre un misterioso cementerio oculto en lo profundo del bosque cerca de su nuevo hogar. Los directores de la nueva película, Pet Sematary, serán Kevin Kolsch y Dennis Widmyer (Starry Eyes, Scream: The TV Series), con Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train) como guionista.

La versión cinematográfica original de Pet Sematary (Cementerio de mascotas) se estrenó en 1989, con King como guionista, y la secuela se lanzó en 1992. Si has visto la secuela, sabes por qué no hubo una tercera parte. Esta nueva película será un remake de la película original de 1989, y no una versión de la secuela.
